Located in the heart of Derbyshire, Buxton Press is one of the UK's leading and most technologically advanced lithographic printing companies.

Our story
Visitors to Buxton Press are usually struck first and foremost by our magnificent stone archway entrance which hints at the origins of the original building.
Our premises date back to 1877, during the time of William Cavendish, the 7th Duke of Devonshire. Initially designed and built as a coaching house and stabling for visitors to the town, with the advent of the railway the need for stabling waned and by 1915, the Devonshire Estate proposed converting the stables into a printing and binding works, marking the beginnings of Buxton's long-standing connection to the printing industry - and establishing the fore-runner of Buxton Press!

Shaped by advances in technology and the dynamic growth of exciting opportunities in the magazine printing sector, the business has evolved dramatically over time and under the long-standing ownership of the Galloway family has gone from strength to strength to become the award-winning success that it is today, with Buxton Press firmly established as one of the most modern UK printing companies in its sector.
Growth over the years has inevitably necessitated change to the overall structure of the building, retaining the integrity and character of the original façade has been of paramount importance and today the double fronted construction, complete with magnificent archway, stands proud and much as it did all those years ago.
In today’s ever-changing market, we understand what’s important for publishers and we strive to deliver a customer focused, flexible and friendly printing service to meet our clients’ needs.

Litho printing produces top quality results; vibrant printing with great definition. It is a highly cost effective process which is particularly suited for longer run magazines, brochures and catalogues where high levels of detail and colour accuracy is crucial.
At Buxton we have installed the latest available press technology and our fleet of Heidelberg presses have been carefully selected for their overall performance, speed, reliability, efficiency and of course, exceptional print quality.
24/7 operation with continuous monitoring
Operating around the clock all our presses incorporate continuous inline colour monitoring, spectrophotometric measurement and automated plate loading to deliver the ultimate in print performance; measuring and controlling colour at any speed and throughout the print run to give accurate and consistent results - every time.
Paper saving CutStar reel sheeters are fitted to all presses, enabling paper to be cut to size on the press, streamlining production, minimising waste and assisting with both paper costs and our environmental considerations.
